You probably want to study this year and you have financial issues, don’t worry because South African universities got your back with the variety of scholarships.

Besides the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, there is a number of bursaries that students can apply for funding from.

Below is an information about some of scholarships for South African universities students.

  • Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust

In 1996, Cyril Ramaphosa began supporting a small number of disadvantaged students with bursaries, so that they can attend university. He did this by donating the money he earned through his public speaking engagements. This developed into the Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust (CRET) in 2000.

  • Kantey & Templer

Kantey & Templer has always been an equal opportunity employer and we continue to encourage all members of our staff to excel in their specific disciplines.
Kantey & Templer awards bursaries for study at tertiary institutions in South Africa. The Kantey & Templer Bursary and Educational Assistance Scheme has been created to provide financial assistance for the study of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering at tertiary level for persons who, through proven academic performance and personal circumstances, are considered deserving of support. Applications from previously disadvantaged individuals are encouraged.

  • Vodacom Foundation

The Vodacom Foundation is the corporate social investment (CSI) arm of Vodacom. The Foundation leverages Vodacom’s enormous technological capability to improve people’s lives. At Vodacom our purpose is to connect people and create possibilities.
Vodacom’s Open Bursary Scheme awards bursaries, based on merit and need, to students who successfully pass their matric exams. Vodacom awards 110 bursaries every year to attend local universities. Bursaries cover tuition, books, meals, transport and accommodation.
