There’s no formula for a hit, it’s a gift from God – Zakwe

Rapper Zakwe is pleased at the positive reaction to his hit track ‘Sebentin’ and hopes his album will get the same reception.

Zakwe whose full name is Ntokozo Zakwe was born and bred in KwaMashu believes his music and success comes from a higher power.

“There’s no formula for a nice song, for a hit…I just believe that it’s a gift from God, so when God blesses me with a hit it’s just me delivering what he believes I should deliver, so I’m just happy people are accepting the song,” said Zakwe

Zakwe whose full name is Ntokozo Zakwe was born and bred in KwaMashu and his passion for his hometown has never died, that’s why as part of his pre-album launch the Bath’ngyachoma hitmaker will be hosting a Home Coming concert at KwaMashu on the first of December that’ll have a talk session during the day so as to groom young rappers. He revealed his plans in an interview on The Lunch Time Fix with Siphi Msani and Louis B this past Friday.

“We’re actually talking with people Casper, Kwesta, Stogie T and all of the guys, we just want to make it strictly hip hop, probably during the day we will be advising rappers, talking to them, because most of the rappers are doing rap but don’t even understand what rap is, they don’t even know the difference between hip hop and rap,” concluded Zakwe.

Tune in to The Lunchtime Fix with Siphi Msani and Louis B from 13h00 to 15h00 weekdays.
