It’s Exam Time! Take Your Grades From Average to A’s

It’s that time of the year where academic life turns out into a nightmare for students who have been neglecting their textbooks.

We don’t want to be bearer of bad news but you might have to trade your twitter fingers for some textbook orientated ones. However fear not, as RadioDUT, we’ve got your back.

Here are a few study tips that might be of help:

  1. Find your biggest distraction and tranquilise it.

The simplest things can be a great distraction when trying to study. Find what you struggle the most with and get it under control, For example, one of the common distractions many students struggle with is our close companions, our cell phones. When it comes to removing anything that can be distractive, your cell phone can be your biggest enemy. Aeroplane mode is your best friend.

  1. You need peace and quiet.

A quiet workspace breeds productivity. Other people prefer studying in a quiet place while others background music works in their favour. Try to find out something that helps you concentrate.

  1. Listen to your body.

Give yourself enough time to rest, studying for a long time can be counterproductive at some point. Cramming information in your brain for hours on end is doing more harm than good. Give yourself at least 15 minutes of break per study session. Power naps work wonders too.

  1. Keep sight of your goals.

Make a list of what you want to achieve when it comes to your academic performance. This will help motivate you when times get tough.

  1. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

If you don’t reach a goal or you somehow miss your target, it is okay. It’s not the end of the world, you can learn from your mistakes and be better next time.
