Sundowns crowned PSL Champions

On Saturday, after a closely fought contest for the Absa premiership title, the requirements were clear. Despite their disappointing exit from the CAF Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns retained their League title after beating Free State stars. Stars was desperate for three points to win to survive relegation.

After the match, club president Patrice Motsepe reiterated that he wants coach Pitso Mosimane to become the Alex Ferguson of the club.

Since Mosimane joined the club in the middle of the 2013/2014 season following the departure ofJohan Neesken‚ he has led Sundowns to four Absa Premiership league titles‚ the Caf Champions League‚ Caf Super Cup‚ the Telkom Knockout and the Nedbank Cup.

“I have said that I want Pitso to be the Alex Ferguson of Mamelodi Sundowns and that means I want to keep him for as long as he wants to be here‚” Motsepe said.

Stars will play their trade in the National First Division next season.
