South African Women deserve honour – Ramaphosa

“The women of SA deserve to be treated with respect and they deserve to be honoured”

This is what President Cyril Ramaphosa had to say on a Women’s Day Celebration held in Paarl in the Western Cape on Thursday.

The President launched the Gender Based Violence Robot and said there is going to be Information distributed with numbers to assist victims of GBV.

“There are going to be leaflets will be distributed with numbers where women can call whenever the moment arises, “said Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa said young women must be in professions and must be leaders in key industries because the nation is hungry for their leadership.

Meanwhile, Economic Freedom Fighters held their Women’s Month Celebration in Pietermaritzburg at Caluza Sport Ground.

EFF leader Julius Malema called on members of Student Command to protect women in campuses and to fight rape culture where they see it.

According to Ramaphosa, the government will succeed to build a society in which the daughters of young girls will leave in peace and feel protected as they walk the streets of the townships. He also said they are committed to ensure that women are at minimum equal beneficiaries of government programmes on asset poverty.

“We dedicate ourselves to treat the women of this country with the necessary respect,” Ramaphosa said.
