In the past week you most probably have noticed that security on campus has become a bit stricter.
This follows the recent safety protests that were sparked by an on campus stabbing of a student who died in hospital this past weekend.
All students from both the Durban and Midlands campuses should note the following rules:
1.1 All students are required to have in their possession, a valid DUT student card, which must be produced, on request, by security personnel.
1.2 The cost of replacing a lost student card is R40.00, which is payable at DUT Cashiers.
2.1 All persons/vehicles entering and leaving any of the DUT premises, may be subject to a search by security personnel.
3.1 Students are required to please display their bona fide parking disk at all times, on the left-hand side of the windscreen, for clear identification by the security personnel.
This is to ensure that staff and students are safer on campus.
Always make sure that you have your student card with you every time you enter or leave campus.
