DUT student Nontando Mbatha who was reported to be missing almost two weeks ago has been found alive.

Nontando went missing on 11 November.

A statement was released by DUT management calling for assistance to find Nontando, pleading to the public to report to the Umbilo SAPS if they had any information.

“She was last seen leaving the Campbell Student Residence in Glenwood, Durban. She was wearing denim jeans, a purple bodysuit underneath a denim redbat jacket with white redbat stripes.” DUT communications said in a statement that was emailed to the DUT community.

On Thursday 21 November, the DUT SRC released a statement on Facebook page announcing that Nontando has been found alive.

“We are happy to report that she is alive,” the EFFSC said in the statement.

In the statement they also mention that Nontando was kidnapped and was returned to her residence tied up in the same clothes she was wearing in the day she went missing.

Nontando is in hospital covering.

The EFFSC has thanked DUT students for being a useful tool in finding Nontando, and are happy that she was found alive.
