LIRA TO BE THE FIRST African modeled by a Barbie Doll.

South African song bird Lira shook the masses when she shared the news of being the first African to have her own Barbie doll.

“I am proud to announce that I have been awarded a one-of-a-kind Lira Barbie doll, as part of Barbie’s 60th Anniversary Shero campaign celebrating role models who inspire young girls to be all they can be. I am the very first African to be bestowed with this honour and I’m simply thrilled to be honoured in this way.” She said in a caption of her picture holding the Barbie doll.

The doll was made as part of the 60th anniversary of Barbie, honoring extra ordinary women from all over the world.

This is news following Lira coming out to announce that she and her husband have separated.

Other women that were also honored in this celebration were Mexican superstar Frida Kahlo, British super Model Adoa Aboah,  Noami Osaka and American actress Yahari Shahidi.

Quoted on the Independent Online (IOL) Barbie General Manager and Senior Vice President Lisa McKnight said through their global role model program they are shining a spotlight on inspiring women such as Lira to show girls they can be anything.

This has brought jubilation to the country as people poured out their messages congratulating the star in such a big achievement and honor.
