eThekwini Mayor leads march for people with disabilities.

Mayor Zandile Gumede will be leading hundreds of people to the Durban City Hall as they march to commemorate Disability Awareness Month.

Municipal spokesperson, Tozi Gumede says they want to promote the rights of people with disabilities and encourage members of the public to support them.

“This is our way of showcasing the way we respect the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. As eThekwini Municipality, we are very clear in our policies to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities and hope our society will do the same,” she says.

The march will proceed from the corner of Dr Pixley KaSeme and Dorothy Nyembe Streets and conclude at Durban City Hall.
