Entrepreneurship through Arts!

The faculty of Arts and Design organised a Student Entrepreneurship Day at their home campus, City Campus in Durban on Monday morning.

The purpose of the workshop was to give the Faculty of Arts and Design students the opportunity to understand the entrepreneurial side of arts.

Creating contacts between students and former students who have made it in their respective areas of expertise, more especially giving them ideas on how to get to where they are.

“We are very proud to gather all of the departments under the faculty in one roof, which makes me proud to be part of the faculty,” said Dr Reene Smith, deputy dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design.

This year the faculty found it fit to involve the Education students from Pietermaritzburg both Riverside and Indumiso campuses.

Noxolo Msibi, education student from Indumiso Campus, who attended the event says, she wishes to start an NPO one day and says that she gained a lot from the event.

The DUT Faculty of Arts and Design wishes to continue this initiative.
