DUT HIV/AIDS Will Host Silent Protest

DUT HIV/AIDs in collaboration with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation South Africa will host the silent protest on Friday 21 August in Durban for the second time.

The aim of the Silent Protest11891232_709987902479665_312899406476419550_n.jpgHIV is to raise awareness around the epidemic of rape in South Africa and stand in solidarity with survivors who are often rendered silent by sexual violence.

If you are going to be in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal on 21 August you are invited to come and help to raise awareness of gender based violence and the need for Post Exposure Prophylaxis in KZN clinics.

Participants must register to receive free refreshments and T-shirts. To register send email to [email protected]

08h30 – 09h30: Gather at Silent Protest marquee on Ritson Field for T-shirt distribution
09h30: Briefing and silencing
10h00: March to Alan Pittendrigh Library lawns for photos
10h30 – 11h00: Gather on Alan Pittendrigh Library lawns, bus or walk to King Dinizulu park
11h00: Silent march from DUT City Campus to City Hall
12h30 – 13h30: Die-in outside City Hall
13h30 – 14h30: Transport from City Hall back to Silent Protest marquee on Ritson Field
14h30 – 15h00: Refreshment distribution
