[DreamsTAA] Who is responsible for carrying condoms in a sexual relationship?

King Khobra, Bunny Mgagz and Matt Tsolo have all joined forces to bring you exclusive interviews with people who have amazing stories to share!

All of this is part of Dreams Thina Abantu Abasha brought to you by Johnson and Johnson, where young girls are empowered through getting influential people to share their lives’ journey.

Every year, thousands of young girls between the ages of 15-24 are infected with HIV, with many of them falling pregnant also.

Today Bunny and Khobra spoke about negotiating condom usage in a sexual relationship.

Here are some of the contraception methods they spoke about:

  1. The UID

This form of contraception is a T-shaped device which is inserted in the vagina by a healthcare practitioner and it is 99% effective when it comes to pregnancy. One of the best thing about the UID is that it is “immediately reversible should you decide to get pregnant.” However, feel free to ask your doctor for more information.

  • The Implant

This is apparently one of the most popular ones that many people consider. After all, it is 99.9% safe in preventing one from getting pregnant. The implant is implanted under the upper arm and it stops a woman from ovulating and work for up to three years. Just like the UID, it too is reversible should you decide that you want to have a baby.

  • Injectibles

A synthetic progesterone (hormone) is that is injected on the arm and protects you from pregnancy for up to 12 weeks!

  • The Pill

Also known to help with acne, the pill in over 90% effective when taken correctly every day.

  • The Condom

Both the male and female condom are over 90% effective when used correctly. They both prevent infections such as HIV, STIs and so forth, unlike the other methods which only prevent pregnancy. Also, they can be found for free of charge.

Whatever you do, make sure you choose the method that works best for you while remembering that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are safe.
