If you hate adverts, well, guess what? WhatsApp is reportedly going to introduce ads on your WhatsApp statuses.

The popular messaging app is working on new features which will be rolled out in the next few weeks.

According to My Broadband, Facebook, the owner of WhatsApp has announced that adverts will start showing on the Status as soon as 2020.

“These status advertisements will be used to increase the money Facebook can make from the messaging app and are expected to function similarly to the adverts found in Instagram’s Stories.”

Another new addition is the name changes, both WhatsApp and Instagram will have “From Facebook”, i.e “WhatsApp from Facebook”.

However, there is some good news for you though.

There is going to be a feature that allows you use one WhatsApp profile across multiple devices and platforms.

The best thing about this is that your phone doesn’t need to be connected to the internet to have it running on your desktop.

The launch date for this feature hasn’t been established yet.

Android users are living their best life now that Google’s Assistant can read their messages.

All they need to say is “Read my messages” and the assistant will do the honours.
