#CatchUp Qakaza Ladies Network.


Denmark Vee got to sit down with the Qakaza Ladies Network and talk about how they began a project about woman empowerment around res.

Qhakaza Ladies Network also referred  to as QLN is a network that is an affiliation of DUT  Student housing. This  network aims to create  special  recognized  platform  for the women of DUT to network ,get exposure, assistance, mentorship, sponsorship and address social issues that affect women and association  to and with the corporate world  through it’s offices initiative.

QLN  offers practical assistance ,political awareness ,psychological  wellness,religious and spiritual   and self -awareness.  The mission of the organisation is to address social  issues of inferiority complexes faced by the vast majority of females in residencies,namely lack of direction even though studying at tertiary  level ,hopelessness,perceived background limitations,lack of interpersonal skills ,and an inability to network and lack of motivation to develop skills beyond the classroom.

The network has also done programmes in the previous years namely the  cancer walk,  talk shows at residences  for women mainly in Walsingham  residence and also works  in collaboration with a girl’s orphanage  here in Durban called St. Philomena’s.
