Durban University of Technology students have shown support to their suspended SRC president and demand him back. This was after the SRC president Sesiyanda Godlimpi and other SRC members were suspended on Monday for allegedly verbally attacking a staff member and instilling fear.

Students took it to the Facebook page used to communicate with students under the hash tag bring back our president. Under this hashtag students showed their support and claim that the president was unfairly suspended and especially that he was fighting for students to be registered with the SRC’s budget.

Some have even threatened not to return to classes in the 2nd semester without their president being back. “We are not returning to lectures rooms next semester without President Godlimpi and other EFFSC members,’ a student said on Facebook post. Godlimpi and other students that were that were suspended were expected to do a presentation on why they should not be suspended yesterday, and the verdict is said to be on Monday or Tuesday.
