Academic excellence celebrated at Financial Accounting Awards.

Diligence and perseverance were celebrated at the 4th annual Financial Accounting Awards ceremony at the Ritson Campus earlier today.

The ceremony was facilitated by the Faculty of accounting and Informatics. Students were awarded for academic excellence in different fields under financial accounting such as Tax, and internal auditing. Mvelo Siyaya was awarded two times for coming out tops under the category, National Diploma in financial accounting auditing and was the highest achiever in all the departments.

Siyaya was one of the top achievers of the day, and was very pleased to see one of the students he mentored getting an award.

“I’m happy to be part of this very important event as it encourages other students to work harder to be part of them… academic excellence is the only tool we have when we get to industry so it’s significant to contribute to a good Curriculum Vitae (CV)”, said Siyaya.

Head of Department (HOD) Mrs Feroza Joossub was brimming with pride saying the ceremony was not only for the students but made all the staff at the department proud to have been part of the students’ journey and to applaud top achievers.

“This ceremony is for students to know how important they are. Sacrifice and hard work are some of the attributes that are being rewarded today. We want all our students to keep thriving for excellence”, said Joossub.
