ABSA Premiership updates: Chiefs recorded their first win

 


Kaizer Chiefs bounced back to winning ways after defeating Cape Town City by 4-1 in their ABSA Premiership clash on Saturday.

Chief’s win was inspired by Khama Billiat’s outstanding performance that resulted in him being the man of the match.

Despite their club’s poor performance so far, Amakhosi fans came in their numbers at the Cape Town Stadium (Green Point).

In the evening, Orlando Pirates followed in their rivals’ footsteps after crushing SuperSports United by 3-1 in Soweto, Orlando Stadium.

The Buccaneer’s midfielder was praised by soccer fans after his exceptional performance with some comparing him to the Bafana Bafana’s England based defensive midfieder, Kamohelo Mokotjo.

On the following day on Saturday afternoon Mamelodi Sundowns visited Amazulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlaza.

The Brazilians and Usuthu shared the spoils after a thrilling 3-3 draw.Sundowns have a bad record of failing to beat Amazulu in their home ground.

The first half produced two goals and the second one with four goals. Sundowns’ winger Toni Silva handed his team after dribbling past Gumede and scored against Moeneeb Josephs who stood no chance to stop the shot.

Amazulu were still dealing with news of Siyabonga Nomvethe’s retirement from professional football.
