Students Go To The Streets!! #StudentStrike Continues.

The Durban University of Technology has been taking a lot of hits this year. After an eight week long staff strike you would think that the students together with the lecturers would try to fight with time and cover all the work needed. The students went to ML Sultan campus to stop classes and take to the streets. However things quickly turned out sour when police and the institution’s security closed all Steve Biko’s gates, preventing the crowd from entering.

At the the gate the crowd sang and stated that the university must recognise that they cannot continue like the students are sorted, they also believe that the president of the SRC has been lenient on the management. It is still unclear as to how far the students are willing to go since things went violent when the student and police went head to head.
